This bill would prevent credit card companies from introducing new charges to harm consumers, as has been the case with Bank of America and Citigroup. Arcuri Discusses Inclusion of Dairy Funding to Agriculture Appropriations BillOctober 2, 2009. Following several meetings with local dairy farmers in recent months, U.S. Rep. Michael Arcuri (NY-24) today, voted in support of legislation that includes $350 million to assist the ailing dairy industry. Arcuri, as a member of the House Dairy Working Group, spent the last several weeks advocating for the additional $350 million to help their constituent dairy farmers weather record low milk prices and rising costs of production. Arcuri established three regional Agriculture Advisory Committees earlier this year to receive first-hand accounts of the issues facing Upstate New York farmers and hears from farmers of all types on a regular basis through these committees. |
